KOKUYO Urban Monochrome Alumite Foldable / Straight Ruler 15-30cm

Overview

Tired of having to carry a huge, clunky straight edge just for precision work? The KOKUYO Urban Monochrome Ruler📏 is the stylish solution for both portability and accuracy. This ingenious aluminum folding ruler instantly shrinks from a full 30cm precision measuring tool down to a pocket-friendly 15cm, making it the ultimate everyday carry for designers and students alike📐. It truly simplifies your toolkit without sacrificing quality👍. Don't compromise your desk space for dimension.

Engineered with a premium Alumite finish, this isn't fragile plastic. The material is genuine anodized aluminum alloy, which means the metric scale markings are laser-engraved and protected by an electrochemically hardened layer💎. This protection makes the surface exceptionally durable, highly scratch-resistant, and virtually immune to corrosion, ensuring that the compact metal ruler maintains its legibility and sleek look for years of intense use💡. It's a reliable instrument built for longevity.

For technical users, the hinge stability is key. Our folding design features a high-tolerance, positive-stop lock, guaranteeing a perfectly straight, secure edge when extended to the full 30cm, ideal for detailed layouts and blueprints✍️. Whether you need a simple measure or a professional drafting ruler 30cm, this sleek tool is the only straight edge you'll ever need to toss in your briefcase or pencil case💼. It delivers reliable results every time🔑.

Features

• Dual-Length Functionality: Easily converts from a compact metal ruler (15 cm) for easy storage to a full-length 30 cm straight edge for drawing and design work📏.
• Professional Alumite Finish: The anodized aluminum surface provides extreme durability and ensures the scale remains perfectly legible even after heavy use🛡️.
• Hinge Integrity Lock: Engineered with a precise, positive-stop mechanism, which eliminates "play" at the joint, guaranteeing the ruler maintains a true, accurate straight line when fully extended💯.
• Anti-Smudge Design: The crisp metal edge is inherently better at preventing ink bleed compared to thicker plastic rulers, crucial for any dedicated straight edge drafting tool🖌️.
• Metric Scale Precision: Features clear, high-contrast metric markings, making it the preferred engineer scale metric for students and professionals globally 🌍.

Q&A

Is an aluminum folding ruler as accurate as a fixed straight edge?

A: Yes, a high-quality aluminum folding ruler is highly accurate when extended. This model features a proprietary locking hinge mechanism designed with minimal tolerance, which ensures the joint aligns perfectly and locks rigidly, providing the straightness integrity required of any precision measuring tool.

How can I prevent ink from smudging when using a straight edge drafting tool?

A: To avoid smudging, use a metal ruler and employ the "straight-up lift" technique when finished with your line💡. Also, immediately wipe the edge of the ruler on a tissue after each line to remove residual ink, ensuring a clean straight edge drafting tool for the next use.

What is Alumite anodized aluminum?

A: Alumite is a term for anodized aluminum, which means the metal surface has been electrochemically hardened. This process creates a dense, protective layer of aluminum oxide that is much harder than untreated aluminum, making the ruler highly durable, corrosion resistant, and protecting the scale markings from abrasion.

Is this product suitable for use as an engineer scale metric?

A: Yes. While it's a straight ruler, not a triangular engineer's scale, it features high metric scale precision and a professional 30cm length📐. This makes it an ideal, precise engineer scale metric tool for technical drawing, civil planning, and design work, especially in regions that use the metric system.
